I hope this email finds you and your family in good health. With all of the recent developments with the Coronavirus (Covid-19) issue, you may not have thought much about the effect on visits to our office for dental care. The most recent recommendations from professional sources are that we should limit visits to our office to essential dental care. This is mainly due to the severe shortage of the protective gear that we wear (masks, gloves, etc) This means that we will still be available for dental problems that require immediate attention but routine care is being deferred.
We are in the process of contacting those of you who have visits scheduled in the near future in order to postpone those visits until public health officials signal that the incidence of viral infection has been mitigated and supplies of gloves and masks are again regularly available.
We are confident in our ability to safely treat those patients in our office that need care. In addition to the infection control measures that we have employed for years, we are also taking the extra steps to regularly disinfect, the non-clinical, public areas of the office. If, at any time, you need to contact us or have any questions, please feel free to call, text, or email. These are unusual times that are testing our mettle, but I know that, together, we can get through it.
Yours truly,
Scott M Dubowsky DMD
