By now you have probably had more than your fill of information about our unprecedented present circumstance. As you may know our dental office as all other others in the state of New Jersey have been asked to cease all non emergency care until at least April 20th. We have complied with that request and are essentially closed at least until that time.
I am, however, still available for consultation and we are prepared to handle true emergency circumstances. If you feel you need to contact me, do not hesitate to call our office at 201-339-1486, leave a message, and you will also be directed to my cell phone number if necessary for more immediate contact. I would advise you not to seek care at a hospital emergency facility for a dental problem since they are focused on the Covid 19 problem and also because of the increased likelihood that you could also come in contact with a positive Corona individual.
To decrease the possibility of incurring an oral health emergency during this time, it is vitally important that you are very proactive with you own oral health. Brushing and flossing diligently has never been more important. Sensible diets that are low in refined carbohydrates and sugars will also be helpful . Lastly, there are reports that oral rinses using 1.5% hydrogen peroxide such as Peroxyl (OTC) are more effective than conventional mouthwash against the Corona virus.
We will get past this. The more we cooperate with the public health recommendations, the sooner we can get back to our normal lives.
Wishing all of you good health,
Scott M Dubowsky DMD
